For the past 10 years, Artist Marilyn Blitz has been studying and painting in Palm Springs,
California and Vashon Island, Washington.
Her first Vashon show was at Quartermaster Inn in 2008 and featured her watercolor paintings.
The following year a series of works, both watercolors and acrylics, based on the barns
of Vashon was the theme of her successful exhibit, "Barnspotting" at The Hardware Store
Restaurant.
Continuing to explore the natural themes and beautiful, expansive views of the Island, she
has produced a new group of paintings for this year's show, "Vashon Wide Angles". They are
primarily landscapes, all in acrylic, and several are quite large, composite paintings, up to eight
feet long.
"Vashon Wide Angles" opens at The Hardware Store Restaurant, downtown Vashon, on August 6th, with an Artist's Reception at 5:30pm, and closes September 1st, 2010.
