Watercolor artist Marilyn Blitz retired from her Tacoma floral business and moved to Palm Desert six years ago, but keeps summer set aside for enjoying Vashon.
She returns this year with new works, most of which were produced in the desert but are often inspired by scenes that are part of her life in Burton.
"The Rat's Nest" is a rustic, quaint little Burton guest cottage on Quartermaster Harbor. "Boy Picking Apples" is what happens each September in her front yard with the 70 year old apple trees.
Often seen in Vashon Allied Arts auctions, in August 2006 she received the "People's Favorite Award" at the Vashon Hardware Store gallery.
Marilyn's recent watercolors will be shown at the Back Bay Inn with a wine and cheese reception, Friday, June 6th at 5 p.m.
